The Admissions Team offers a number of virtual events throughout the admissions season. We provide a variety of opportunities, different in scope, so that families can experience a broad overview of the BASIS Independent Silicon Valley experience and difference.

Which event should I attend?
Depending on how familiar you are with our school will depend on what event(s) you attend. Virtual Information Sessions will offer the best general overview of our program, so if you are new to our community, we would suggest starting there.

How many events can I attend?
You are welcome to attend as many as you like!

Can my student(s) attend the events?
Absolutely! We would love to see them. Our belief is that the student should be as much a part of the conversation as possible.

What are the differences between your events?
Please read the event descriptions below to learn more about what event would best suit you.

Information Sessions: A presentation led by the Head of School, providing an overview of the BASIS Curriculum, extracurriculars, and school community for all grades. Best for those who are new to BASIS Independent, but great events for all to attend. We feature two teachers at each event and often have current students assist. There is a short group Q&A at the end of the presentation.

  • Saturday, August 29
  • Saturday, September 26

Open Houses: This event begins with a condensed Information Session before parents are able to hear from multiple teachers on their subject expertise. Subjects vary at each Open House. Families may also hear from our current Bobcat Students and/or Parents.

  • Saturday, November 7
  • Saturday, December 5
  • Saturday, January 23

Middle School Night: A presentation led by the Head of School, providing a deeper dive overview of the BASIS Curriculum in our Middle School Program by grade and by discipline. We feature two teachers. There is a short group Q&A at the end of the presentation.

  • Thursday, October 22

High School Night: A presentation led by the Head of School, providing an overview of the BASIS Curriculum in our High School Program by grade and by discipline, college counseling process, the Senior Year difference, and how we set new students up for success who enter our program in grade 9. We feature two teachers. There is a short group Q&A at the end of the presentation.

  • Thursday, November 19

*Both Middle School Night and High School Night are only offered once a year. They are similar to an Information Session, except the focus is on one section of grades, rather than all grades, and we will take a deeper dive into the sequence of our curriculum by grade and by discipline.

Coffee with Admissions: Before our Early and Regular Admissions application submission deadlines, the Admissions Team will host a virtual meeting to answer any remaining questions before the close of each application cycle. Parents will be able to submit their questions beforehand and bring up any key topics during our virtual discussion.

  • Tuesday, October 20 for Early Admissions (Grades 5-7)
  • Tuesday, January 26 for Regular Admissions (Grades 5-9)

We hope to see you soon!
