The Admissions Team offers a number of events throughout the admissions season. We provide a variety of opportunities, different in scope, so that families can experience a broad overview of the BASIS Independent experience and difference.

Which event should I attend?
Depending on how familiar you are with our school will depend on what event(s) you attend. Information Sessions will offer the best general overview of our program, so if you're new to our community, we would suggest starting there.

How many events can I attend?
You are welcome to attend as many as you like!

Can I bring my student to the events?
Absolutely! We would love to meet them. Our belief is that the student should be as much a part of the conversation as possible.

What are the differences between your events?
Please read the event descriptions below to learn more about what event would best suit you.

Information Sessions: A presentation led by the Head of School, providing an overview of the BASIS Curriculum and community for all grades. Best for those that are new to BASIS Independent, but great events for all to attend. We feature two teachers at each event and often have current students assist. There is a short group Q&A at the end of the presentation. Admissions and School Leadership are available for individual questions afterward.

Typically held on Saturdays for one hour (10 AM – 11 AM)

Open Houses: This event begins with a condensed Information Session before parents experience a “day in the life” of a BASIS Independent student by following a course schedule and visiting several different classrooms in 15-minute increments. There are generally five Lower School Teachers and five Upper School Teachers. Subjects vary.

Typically held on the weekend for two hours (10 AM – 12 PM)

Tours: An opportunity for parents to visit the campus while school is in session. They will have the chance to step into a few classes and get to meet a few teachers who we may bump into in the halls.

Tours are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings by appointment only (45 minutes)

Head of School Tours: This tour is led by our Head of School, Mr. Toby Walker. This is an opportunity for parents to visit the campus while school is in session. They will have the chance to step into a few classes and get to meet a few teachers. There is a Q&A with Mr. Walker at the end of the tour.

Only offered on the first Tuesday of the month from 10:15 AM – 11:15 AM

Middle School Night: A presentation led by the Head of School, providing an overview of the BASIS Curriculum in Middle School. We feature two teachers. There is a short group Q&A at the end of the presentation. Admissions and School Leadership are available for individual questions afterward.

High School Night: A presentation led by the Head of School, providing an overview of the BASIS Curriculum in High School. We feature two teachers. There is a short group Q&A at the end of the presentation. Admissions and School Leadership are available for individual questions afterward.

*Both Middle School Night and High School Night are only offered once a year. They are similar to an Information Session, except the focus is on one section of grades, rather than all grades.

We hope to see you soon!
