2022 has been quite a year! We regularly publish articles on student life, our community, school accomplishments, and more to both celebrate and highlight our Bobcat community. #1 - Class of 2022 College Acceptances

Congratulations to the class of 2022! This group of seniors was able to return to in-person learning for their final year of high school, which was such a poignant way to honor their academic efforts here at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley.  One of our College Counselors, Ms. McCollum shared, "Getting back on campus and working with this group of seniors has been nothing short of a joy. This is a group of students who have shown tremendous resiliency throughout their high school years, who care deeply about the world around them, and who will go on to do amazing things. Congratulations, Class of 2022, you deserve all the good that is coming to you!"

#2 - In the News: Women in STEM Edition

Senior Aprille X. '22 earned the honor of being named a Presidential Scholar Semifinalist this year, and she excelled across subjects during her tenure at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley. According to the Department of Education, "scholars are selected on the basis of superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character, and involvement in community and school activities." You can see the news item on Aprille in the San Jose Mercury News.

Aprille's Senior Project focused on how to effectively educate youth about the digital world. She spent time thinking through how important it is not just to inspire children to explore STEM but also to help them understand the problems and concerns of technologies such as current social media platforms.

#3 - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrating the Grand Opening of our Lower School Campus!

We recently celebrated the grand opening of the BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Lower School Campus through an official ribbon-cutting ceremony! Joining this celebration were members of the Spring Education Group leadership team, BASIS Independent Schools leadership, and the BASIS Independent Silicon Valley administrative team.

Our upper school campus, which is home to our middle and high school students, opened in 2014. Through hard work, commitment, and dedication from our staff and students, this campus has been a huge success. This led to the grand opening of our new lower school campus, one of the newest expansions of the BASIS Independent School network. Our lower school campus is home to our TK - Grade 5 Bobcats and is nestled in Sunnyvale, California.

#4 - BASIS Independent Schools Scores Top National Rankings by Niche

The 2023 Niche school rankings are in and BASIS Independent Schools has remained a rankings powerhouse! The BASIS Independent Schools network now comprises six campuses—three of which have graduating classes—in locations across New York, Northern Virginia, the Bay Area, and the greater Seattle area. We are thrilled that campuses across our network continue to achieve such impressive national recognition year after year.

#5 - Memory Project 2022

Each year, our amazing National Arts Honor Society participates in the Memory Project. Each year, participants are connected with students abroad who are dealing with incredibly difficult situations in their home countries. Our Bobcats were paired with a group of children in Cameroon, and then created beautiful, handmade portraits that were presented to the students they represent.
