New BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Lower School Campus to Open Fall 2022!
BASIS Independent Schools, the world-acclaimed network of private schools, announced the expansion of BASIS Independent Silicon Valley to include a new Lower School campus in Sunnyvale where we will open our highly anticipated Lower School Program. The new campus will open in fall 2022, and we will begin to accept applications for the 2022-2023 school year on August 1, 2021. The Lower School will be located at 1500 Partridge Avenue in Sunnyvale!
BASIS Independent Silicon Valley will now serve students in TK through High School across both campuses providing them with our internationally benchmarked curriculum brought to life by passionate, dedicated Subject Expert Teachers. The Lower School will offer TK - Grade 5 while the Upper School in San Jose will focus on Grades 6 - 12.
This dedicated Lower School will enable us to meet the high demand for our program, while providing younger students with the opportunity to benefit from the BASIS Curriculum. Some of the unique features of the new campus include the following:
-
-
-
- 22 classrooms, complete with three designated science rooms, one engineering room, and a spacious multipurpose room
- Two full courts for basketball and volleyball, as well as priority use of adjacent Raynor Park’s fields for outdoor activities and PE class
- Arrival and departure loop, plus abundant parking

Early Learning Program (TK and K): In Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten, we empower young learners' curiosity through inquiry, exploration, and discovery! Students engage in creative and foundational classes such as Mandarin, engineering, drama, and World Discovery in addition to math, science, language and literacy, and more!
Primary Program (Grades 1 - 4): In the primary years, grades 1–4, students benefit from the support of our unique two-teacher model as they make significant connections between their various subjects. Starting in grade 1, students have a Subject Expert Teacher (SET) for each class instead of one teacher for multiple subjects. Additionally, students will have a designated Learning Expert Teacher (LET) who stays with their class through the day. The LET enhances and customizes the learning experience for each students while supporting social and emotional development.
Grade 5: Our highly sought after grade 5 program is the stepping stone into our middle school experience. In grade 5, students will have one Subject Expert Teacher for each discipline including math, English, Latin, Classics, Fine Arts, PE and more. Students in grade 5 will develop organization and time management skills along with strengthening work and study habits.
We look forward to sharing more about our Lower School Program over the coming weeks.
