As the new school year begins for our five BASIS Independent Schools campuses, we’re seeing all of the crucial elements of our program and classrooms come together after a summer of brainstorming and meticulous preparation.

In addition to welcoming back our local students, both new and familiar, we are excited to get to know the 2020 international students participating in the International Student Programs at the BASIS Independent Brooklyn, BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, BASIS Independent Fremont, and BASIS Independent McLean campuses. The BASIS Independent Schools International Student Program (ISP) offers a dynamic and rigorous American educational experience for F-1 international students who wish to earn a high school diploma in the United States.

International students, through their varied backgrounds and interests, offer their own unique academic and cultural experiences to our classrooms as they build lifelong relationships with peers and teachers. This last year, our ISP graduates received a number of impressive college admissions, including Oxford, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Melon, University of Southern California, and Pomona College.

Additionally, each year we are privileged to receive transfer students from BASIS International Schools in China who join us at one of our U.S. campuses. We love connecting with our sister schools across the globe, and are especially thrilled to announce that as of this September, a new international school has officially joined our network.

BASIS International Bangkok was first slated to open a few years ago after studies showed a growing demand in Thailand for a more ambitious education system following the openings of BASIS International Schools in Shenzhen, established in 2015, and in Guangzhou, China, established in 2017.

Initially, the new Bangkok school will serve students up to grade 5, with the goal of adding another grade level each subsequent year. BASIS International Bangkok has been busy hosting Information Sessions and readying the school in the Rama II area—keep scrolling to see some amazing photos of the new campus (thanks to Joshua Schwimmer for these extraordinary pictures)!
