We're pleased to invite you to apply now for the 2017-18 school year!
The application for the 2017-18 school year is now available on our online portal. Find details of the application requirements below and please feel free to reach out to a member of the admissions team at any time with questions.
- Online Application
The entrance exam consists of three sections: math, English, and a writing prompt. Students will be given 30 minutes for each section. The test is developed by BASIS.ed and whatever the students have learned in their current school year is adequate to prepare them for the exam.
Entrance exams are available on the following dates:
- Sunday, November 13 | 10 AM
- Wednesday, January 11 | 4 PM
- Saturday, February 11 | 10 AM
- Monday, February 27 | 4 PM
The family meeting is an opportunity for us to meet face to face to get to know you and your student. Your family will meet with a member of administration for 20-30 minutes. Family meeting time slots will be available after school during the week, and on a few weekend dates. Please note that the student and at least one parent need to attend this meeting. We recommend signing up for a family meeting slot as soon as you are able to ensure you get a time that will work with your schedule.
Transcripts & Standardized Test Scores
We will need report cards for the current year and previous two years, as well as scores for any standardized testing your student completed during that time. A transcript request form can be downloaded from the application portal, this form should be given directly to the students' school office.
Teacher Recommendation Forms
The teacher recommendation forms can also be downloaded from the application portal. The current Math and English teacher should complete these.

There are several events available to learn more about our school. We offer information sessions, open houses, school tours, and shadow days.
Information sessions provide an introduction to our school's program including philosophy, mission, curriculum and extracurriculars. Hosting all Information Sessions is our Head of School, members of our admissions team, and teachers.
Open houses are an exciting opportunity designed to provide a full, immersive overview of the BASIS Independent Silicon Valley program. At our Open House, a representation of our teaching staff will be available for a meet and greet and to share their vision of the classroom. Prospective families will also have the opportunity to meet school leadership, explore our facility, and hear from students about their experience as a BISV Bobcat.
School tours allow you to see the campus in action. We will make our way throughout the building and discuss curriculum, extra-curricular activities, and life as a BISV student. We can look into classrooms through door windows, however we cannot go in as this is a distraction to our teachers and students.
Prospective students will be paired with a current student to get a better glimpse of campus life. We will pair your child with a student in the grade for which your family is applying so they can see the classes they will take should they enroll.
To be eligible to shadow an application needs to be submitted and the entrance exam and family meeting need to be scheduled. To schedule a shadow day please contact a member of the admissions team. Thank you for your interest in BASIS Independent Silicon Valley!
