Congratulations to our co-ed, high school Volleyball team on winning the Independent Small School Athletic Conference championship! The team’s regular season record was 6-1 and it went 2-0 in the playoffs.

“Winning the championships was a big accomplishment,” said team captain Paulina H. ’24. “It really showed how much we have been able to grow as individuals and as a team in a short couple of weeks.” Some members of the team, like Paulina, had played competitive volleyball before and others had not, but everyone was dedicated to creating the best team possible. Team members chose to practice together during lunch and other free periods outside of afterschool practice.

“Everybody played a role and contributed to the overall success of the team. I appreciated the sheer fun these players had throughout the season -- they truly enjoyed coming to practice and every moment of every game,” said Latin teacher Mr. Ramsby, who co-coached the team with biology teacher Dr. Isquith.

This is BIM’s second year having a volleyball team. The team started in 2019 and was put on hold during the 2020 season.
