Teacher Spotlight: College Counselor and English Subject Expert Teacher Kate Irving

It’s hard to know where to start when we sit down with College Counselor and English Subject Expert Teacher Ms. Irving because she has experience with every division at BASIS Independent McLean! She is one of two college counselors here, she teaches English to grade 6 and 8 students, and she has a son attending the school. She loves working with students of many ages and stages.

We sat down with Ms. Irving to learn about her passions for Shakespeare, teaching, and helping high school students find their best fit college. Read her full bio here.

But recently, the ASCE took notice of the amazing accomplishments happening in Enginnering teacher Dr. Amin Ghafooripour's Civil Engineering Club, so they sat down with him to learn more about how he is leading the charge and inspiring the next generation of inventors and engineers.

Meet Our Faculty & Staff: Amelia Nickles, Subject Expert Teacher: Performing Arts

Amelia Nickles earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from the American Repertory Theatre at
Harvard University and a Bachelors in Performance from Fordham University, Lincoln Center.  She also attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC as a high school student to pursue a career in professional ballet.
