As the first day of our inaugural school year approaches, we're thrilled to unveil to you the team that will make up the founding faculty & staff of BASIS Independent McLean. We're pleased to introduce to you Rikki McCullough, Teaching Fellow at BASIS Independent McLean.

Rikki McCullough earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Physics from Missouri Southern State University in 2007.  Ms. McCullough took courses in Mathematics and Computer Information Science to support her degree.

Before joining BASIS Independent McLean, Ms. McCullough worked as a tutor with various companies, including six years as a Lead Tutor at Tutoring Club McLean.

“I was attracted to BASIS Independent McLean because the structure aligns with my beliefs of what an educational institution can and should be. Helping students find ways to connect knowledge across multiple subjects drives my desire to teach. I am excited to grow as an educator and help BASIS Independent McLean students reach their highest potential,” says Ms. McCullough.

Ms. McCullough was able to visit the Czech Republic, Poland, and Germany in 2005. This followed a semester of learning about scientific history and some of the ways science has been used and misused in the past. The trip included visits to sites of discovery by Gregor Mendel, Robert Koch, and Nicolaus Copernicus.
