Our fourth annual International Day highlighted the wonderful cultures in our community as families and staff created table displays, made food, and shared traditional performances.
Families and staff displayed cultural and historical information about Bangladesh, Brazil, China, India, Iran, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, and South Korea. You could learn about China’s Terracotta Army, see Romanian dolls, learn about Bangladesh villages, taste Polish candies, visit South Korea through virtual reality, and more!
Additionally, families provided a robust potluck of foods from different cultures. Following the fellowship, the celebration concluded with performances showcasing traditional dress and activities, poems, music, and dancing! Photos are below.
Thank you to all the families and staff who participated in the event and made it a success. We hope everyone enjoyed learning about some of the rich backgrounds, histories, and cultures that are a crucial part of our community at BASIS Independent McLean.
