As our Enrollment and School Leadership team readies for our second information session this evening, we took a moment to reflect on our kick-off information session on August 16 at 8000 Jones Branch Drive in Tysons. We're still reeling from the excitement of meeting dozens of families who came to learn more about our program and can't wait to meet more families tonight.

We sat with Head of School Mr. Sean Aiken to ask him a few questions about how it went:

So, how did it go?

Mr. Aiken: The team at BASIS Independent McLean was thrilled to meet so many engaged families and discuss the exciting opportunities for future BASIS Independent students in Virginia.

What was most exciting for you?

Mr. Aiken: Conversations with students — hearing all the areas they want to pursue at the highest levels. Seeing their imaginations run with the chance to build a new school together. The earliest beginnings of community.

Were there any common questions or points of discussion?

Mr. Aiken: Most people were curious about their transition to a challenging educational program like BASIS Independent. We discussed various levels of support, from people to programs, and had a chance to look at some of the highlights of the curriculum. The best thing to do is to set up an appointment to meet with the Head of School to discuss the specifics for individual students, depending on their age and interests. Of course we also encourage families to attend a Curriculum Night in October.

We're looking forward to a packed information session tonight at the Sheraton Tysons Hotel at 7 PM. There are still a few slots left. If you can't make it, be sure to register for another session. We're looking forward to meeting you!
