We are very excited to share with you that our sister school, BASIS Independent Brooklyn, was featured in The China Press to highlight our specific and effective approach to Mandarin education at BASIS Independent Schools. In the blog piece, Jo Goldfarb, Director of Communications for BASIS Independent Brooklyn and Manhattan, demonstrates why we teach Mandarin in the younger years and provides a copy of the featuring article for you to read. We hope you enjoy learning more information about our Mandarin program below.
Earlier this year, Mandarin teacher Ms. Fan was invited to bring a small group of BASIS Independent Brooklyn students to the Chinese Embassy as part of an outreach program to area schools. The Embassy hosted students from local schools with a focus on Mandarin language instruction. There were presentations in Mandarin and conversations encouraged between embassy staff and the students.
Inspired by the blissful feeling of uncovering connections, our blog Eureka! Manhattan is about sharing moments that capture the essence of what it is to be a BASIS Independent student, teacher, administrator, or family.
