The 2023 Niche school rankings are in and BASIS Independent Schools has remained a rankings powerhouse! As a network of six campuses—three of which have graduating classes—in locations across New York, Northern Virginia, the Bay Area, and the greater Seattle area, we are thrilled to achieve such impressive national recognition year after year.

Niche is the leader in K–12 school rankings and provides in-depth profiles on every school in America using powerful search and data tools. The 2023 Niche Best Private High Schools Rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics, data, and millions of reviews from students and parents. Ranking factors include SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, private school ratings, and more. The data is sourced from the U.S. Department of Education, Niche users, and the schools directly.

Please Note: These rankings highlight the three BASIS Independent Schools with a complete High School Program. Our other campus locations in Manhattan, Fremont, and Bellevue continue to grow each year and will qualify for these once they have become a fully mature school.

All of our campuses performed exceptionally well on measures aligned with our core mission: raising the standards of student learning to the highest international levels. Some campuses made great strides in their rankings from 2022, and in areas like College Prep and STEM, several of our campuses received top honors.

As noted above, some outstanding achievements this year for our network include the following:

1. For the second year in a row, BASIS Independent Brooklyn has been recognized among the Best College Prep Private High Schools in New York and also moved up in several rankings including the Best Private K–12 Schools in New York.
2. BASIS Independent Silicon Valley has maintained its placement in the top 5 ranking for the Best High Schools for STEM in America, California, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
3. BASIS Independent McLean was again named #1 in Best College Prep High School in Virginia and also moved up to the #1 spots for best Private K–12 School and Best Private High School in Virginia.
