1608_117_BINS_M_CarsonsCorner_FB_v2.jpgWelcome to Carson's Corner! In this blog series, I, Carson Pierse, share with you the goings-on in the BASIS.ed Network from my perspective as a BASIS Scottsdale alumna.

I graduated from BASIS Scottsdale in 2010. After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Management from Hillsdale College, I returned home to Arizona and to my BASIS.ed roots, joining the BASIS.ed Talent Acquisition department as a teacher Recruitment Coordinator. I then leapt at the opportunity to join BASIS Independent Manhattan as an Admissions Coordinator, and now the Admissions Manager, where I get to help shape our school community in its founding year, and in years to come.

_MG_0119b.jpgThis Saturday, November 5, families have a wonderful opportunity to get a glimpse into the world of a BASIS.ed student. Our BASIS Independent Manhattan and Brooklyn campuses will co-host an Open House at 556 Columbia Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn. This is a semi-annual event not to miss!

What makes the Open House different from our information sessions or tours is that you will experience how BASIS.ed-managed schools graduate the world's best-prepared students. Now that you have heard our presentations and/or seen our classes in action, take this opportunity to actively engage in our program and interact with more of our faculty and staff. Get a real sense for who we are and how we achieve our success.

As an Open House participant, you step into the shoes of a BASIS.ed student and move between 10-minute "classes" where our teachers will showcase their subject, teaching style, and some of 2nd_grade_Enginerring.jpgthe units they are currently exploring with students. There will also be time to ask questions of current parents and get a feel for our classrooms at the Brooklyn campus.

We encourage parents to bring students in grade 2 and above to the Open House. Families can hear first-hand from our current students and parents about the impact the BASIS.ed curriculum and our faculty have had on the educational journey of our students.

We are redefining education and we want to show you how we are accomplishing it! A select number of seats are still available for this event, so don't delay.

Want to learn more about our program? Come visit us at an upcoming event. I look forward to meeting you and sharing more about my experience.
