Recently, NYC Admisions Solutions, the organization focused on guiding families through the high school admissions process, invited BASIS Independent Brooklyn to guest-blog on the topic of school choice and how to "know" which school is the right fit for your student.
Whether families are looking for the best independent or private school in New York City, or just Brooklyn, school choice is at the forefront of many families' collective minds - and is a conversation we enjoy participating in.
Read below for a snippet of our conversation on school choice in New York City:
"...Of course students should enjoy high school for what it is and be sure to stop and smell the roses. But being goal-oriented from the onset with your middle-schooler can help your child and your entire family really clarify priorities of what will lead to the right high school decision.
On April 25th and 26th, we hosted the families of our currently enrolled students at the very first Hard Hat Tours of our new construction at 556 Columbia St.
Beginning in the entryway, we showed off progress on our beautiful, Greek-style theatre as well as the community space we have designated for parents and guardians looking to connect with each other.
Moving through the cafeteria, we walked out to one of our two outdoor play spaces, and up one of the three staircases in the building.
Inspired by the blissful feeling of uncovering connections, our blog Eureka! Brooklyn is about sharing moments that capture the essence of what it is to be a BASIS Independent student, teacher, administrator, or family.
