We received an overwhelming response when we recently announced our High School Merit Scholarship program! We're excited to move through this process with you. We were so excited by the response we saw when we announced our High School Merit Scholarship program. It is wonderful to speak with students interested in "throwing their hat in the ring" and are finally ready to release the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and HOW of this opportunity:
WHO is eligible? Students currently enrolled at BASIS Independent Brooklyn in grades 8 and 9 as well as students who are applying or have applied to BASIS Independent Brooklyn for grades 9 and 10 for the fall 2016 school year.
WHAT is required for consideration? A select number of Merit Scholarships will be awarded to students based on their performance on our Merit Scholarship Exam and demonstrated financial need, plus an optional personal contribution. A personal contribution is anything that allows us to get to know you, and it is entirely up to you what you share with us. It could be a portfolio, a video, a piece of writing, a project you are really proud of, a picture of your collection of medals from your swim team - think outside the box!
We are looking for outstanding incoming 9th and 10th grade students to join our trailblazing students as some of the first graduates from BASIS Independent Brooklyn and we are pleased to invite all incoming high school students (including 8th/9th graders already enrolled at BASIS Independent Brooklyn) to apply for BASIS Independent Brooklyn's High School Merit Scholarship program!
Do you know a student who is interested in being a part of the trailblazing first graduating class of BASIS Independent Brooklyn?
All of us at BASIS Independent Brooklyn are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for merit scholars to join our inaugural 9th grade class, the BASIS Independent Brooklyn Class of 2019!
This is an incredible opportunity for select students to be part of an intellectually rich learning community that graduates students who are, on average, ahead of U.S. peers by three years in math and reading and four years in science.
Inspired by the blissful feeling of uncovering connections, our blog Eureka! Brooklyn is about sharing moments that capture the essence of what it is to be a BASIS Independent student, teacher, administrator, or family.
