Participating in the founding year of a school is a unique and memorable opportunity.

And now, you have the chance to become a founding family of BASIS Independent Bellevue—a learning community where intellectual curiosity drives student success, where interdisciplinary instruction meets experiential learning, and where students learn at the highest international levels. Our passionate, Subject Expert Teachers bring our liberal arts program with advanced STEM offerings to life, using their expertise to help students develop deep content knowledge, subject mastery, and comprehensive critical thinking skills.

When applying, each family will work with members of the Admissions Team, whose role is to welcome new families to our program and educate them on the benefits of a BASIS Independent Bellevue education. They are the guides through the application and admissions process.

The 2022–2023 Application is Now Open!
We are now accepting applications in our Rolling Admissions Application Cycle for Grades 2 - 7! Read on to learn more.
Due to the demand, families are already submitting applications for fall 2022 and we invite you to do so, too. In Rolling Admissions, we aim to complete your application in within 30 days from the time you submitted your child’s application. Only completed applications will receive an admissions decision. If admitted into our program, families will have two weeks to decide on enrollment. To complete enrollment, families need to accept their seat, submit a non-refundable enrollment deposit, and complete their enrollment agreement.

Round 1 Application Deadline & Tuition Benefit

While we are on Rolling Admissions, families who submit an application by Monday, November 8, will have enough time to complete their application, receive an admissions notification, and if accepted, will be able to enroll by our year one tuition discount deadline of December 17, 2021. For families who enroll by Friday, December 17, 2021, they will receive a year one tuition reduction of $2,500.

Admissions Process (Grades 2 - 7)
Outlined below are our admissions requirements. After submitting your application, there is no requirement in order of steps. Each step can be completed at any time.

Attend an Admissions Event (Optional)
We will be hosting a variety of admissions events between now and the start of the school year. We are currently offering Campus Tours (click here to register) and Information Sessions (click here to view upcoming events). Please join us for an event to learn more about our academic and extracurricular difference.

Submit an Online Application (Online)
Families may submit an application through our website. To submit an application today, please click here. Once your application is submitted, a member of the Admissions Team will follow up with you on next steps and more.

Teacher Recommendations Letters
All applicants are required to submit an English and Math Teacher Recommendation Letter. In our application portal, families may submit this request digitally to teachers or download the form to send to their child’s teacher(s). Recommendation letters must be submitted to Admissions directly from a child’s teacher(s).

Official Transcripts
You will be able to download a Transcript Request Form in your application. This form requests your child's current school to send us a current year report, along with the last two school years. As listed in the instructions of the request form, we do not accept documents from parents. All transcripts must be sent from the school to the Admissions Office directly.

Schedule a Virtual Family Meeting
At least one parent or guardian is required to attend this 30-minute virtual Family Meeting. All students applying for Grades 2 - 7 are required to attend. This meeting is a chance for us to get to meet your family, your student, and learn a bit more about them in a one-on-one setting. Family Meetings are conducted through Zoom.

Schedule a Virtual Entrance Exam
All applicants will take the BASIS Independent Schools Entrance Exam. This entrance exam features three sections: math, Language Arts, and writing. Each section is 30 minutes. This exam is not a pass or fail. Because the exam is a diagnostic in nature, we consider it to be just one part of our admissions process. The results of the entrance exam are not shared with the student or parents.

Frequently Asked Admissions Question
Q: How many sections will you have in your founding year?
This is a popular question and a challenging one to answer for a new school. At a minimum, we will have one section in each grade level. It is possible we open with two sections in Grade 5 and 6 knowing these are common entry points into a program. However, grade sections will depend on demand and in each of our school openings, demand significantly exceeded expectations. As we always advise, if you are interested in a BASIS Independent Bellevue education, we invite you to apply now.
