We are excited that BASIS Independent Bellevue officially opens this month on August, 24! While our school opens this month, we also begin to accept applications for the next school year, 2023-24, for grades 3 - 8.

At BASIS Independent Bellevue, we seek applicants who have an interest in learning at an international level, a desire to make a contribution, a willingness to work hard, and an ambition to join a collaborative, supportive, and joyful community of peers and Subject Expert Teachers. Be ready to participate in a culture where academics are encouraged, learning is celebrated, and students have fun! In order to both ensure student success and manage the popularity of our program, admissions is a selective process.

We are excited to know you are considering BASIS Independent Bellevue for the 2023-24 school year! Over the years our school will continue to grow into a middle school through high school, ultimately offering grades 5 - 12.

When applying, each family will work with members of the Admissions Team, whose role is to welcome new families to our program and educate them on the benefits of a BASIS Independent Bellevue education. They are your guides through the application and admissions process.

The 2023–24 Application is Now Open!
We are now accepting applications in our Regular Admissions Application Cycle for grades 3 - 8! Read on to learn more.

Step 1: Attend an Admissions Event (Optional)
We will be hosting a variety of admissions events between now and the start of the school year. We are currently offering Campus Tours (click here to register) and Information Sessions (click here to view upcoming events). Please join us for an event to learn more about our academic and extracurricular difference.

Step 2: Submit an Online Application
Families may submit an application through our website. To submit an application today, please click here. Once your application is submitted, a member of the Admissions Team will follow up with you on next steps and more.

Step 3: Teacher Recommendations Letters
All applicants are required to submit an English and Math Teacher Recommendation Letter. In our application portal, families may submit this request digitally to teachers or download the form to send to their child’s teacher(s). Recommendation letters must be submitted to Admissions directly from a child’s teacher(s).

Step 4: Official Transcripts
You will be able to download a Transcript Request Form in your application. This form requests your child's current school to send us a current year report, along with the last two school years. As listed in the instructions of the request form, we do not accept documents from parents. All transcripts must be sent from the school to the Admissions Office directly.

Step 5: Schedule a Virtual Family Meeting
At least one parent or guardian is required to attend this 30-minute virtual Family Meeting. All students applying for grades 3 - 8 are required to attend. This meeting is a chance for us to get to meet your family, your student, and learn a bit more about them in a one-on-one setting. Family Meetings are conducted through Zoom.

Step 6: Schedule a Virtual Entrance Exam
All applicants will take the BASIS Independent Schools Entrance Exam. This entrance exam features three sections: math, Language Arts, and writing. Each section is 30 minutes. This exam is not a pass or fail. Because the exam is a diagnostic in nature, we consider it to be just one part of our admissions process. The results of the entrance exam are not shared with the student or parents.

Once all supplementary materials are received and required meetings are attended, your application is complete! If you complete your application by the completion deadline, you will receive an admissions decision on the notification day. See below for more details.
